Self confidence & strength like you've never felt before

Redefining 40+: Strong for now and the future

If you are a woman over 40, I am here to tell you that there is a form of exercise that Is not a punishment for what you’ve eaten. But a vehicle for self confidence and strength that you’ve never felt before.

It can shift your perspective on what your amazing body can do and make you realise that we can very much be in our peak physical condition in our 40s and beyond.

A few years ago, I turned 40 and had struggled with several health challenges. I felt totally disconnected from my body, I had put on weight, lost muscle tone and felt daunted by my 40s and this menopause that was ominously waiting for me in the not too distant future.

The effects of all this was I had lost a lot of confidence, I didn’t like what I saw in the mirror and I felt like my best years , physically, were behind me. I thought I was on the slippery slope to mid-life and it was probably inevitable.

I started working out more. Which for me, a child of the 80s and 90s, meant more cardio, and a few other random exercises I liked. I ate less, and then ate loads as I was hungry. Despite working out 5 times a week, I honestly didn’t see much change in terms of my body composition, which is what I really wanted.

And then I picked up some weights and everything changed. I really enjoyed it and started to get stronger, so I carried on. I saw muscle definition, I saw I was becoming “toned”. I felt good, I felt encouraged, I kept going.

I never realised this would give me so much. The best bit, it gave me confidence I had never had before, ever. It gave me strength, inner and outer. From feeling disconnected and frustrated with my body, I felt connected and proud of myself.

"I have been working with Hannah for the past 6 years. Her attention to detail leaves you feeling supported, understood and inspired. I am in my early fifties and I feel stronger, more flexible and healthier than I did a decade ago."

Why Pilates + Strength Training

A combined Pilates plus strength training method is the ideal approach for women over 40 because it addresses the unique changes that occur with age—such as hormonal shifts, muscle loss, joint stiffness, and declining bone density—through a balanced, sustainable system.

Pilates enhances core strength, flexibility, posture, and body awareness, which helps prevent injury and supports joint health. Strength training, on the other hand, is essential for building lean muscle, boosting metabolism, and improving bone density—key factors in maintaining a healthy weight and preventing osteoporosis.

Together, these methods complement each other perfectly, offering both the mindful movement and muscular challenge that women over 40 need to feel strong, confident, and energised in their bodies.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be fit or experienced to join this program?

Not at all. This program is designed specifically for women over 40, whether you're a complete beginner or getting back into fitness. Every plan includes modifications, so you can start at your level and progress at your own pace safely and confidently.

Will this help with weight loss or just toning?

Both. The combination of strength training and Pilates helps build lean muscle, which boosts your metabolism and burns more calories even at rest. You'll also improve your posture, core strength, and overall tone—so you'll feel leaner, stronger, and more energised. Nutritional targets can also be focused towards weight loss.

I have joint issues—will this program be too hard on my body?

No. In fact, this method is joint-friendly by design. Pilates supports alignment and flexibility, while strength training builds muscle to support your joints. You’ll also learn proper form and movement patterns to reduce the risk of injury and feel more stable in everyday life.

How much time will I need to commit each week?

Around 30–45 minutes, 3 to 4 times a week. The workouts are designed to be efficient but effective, so you get maximum benefit without spending hours in the gym. Everything can be done from home with minimal equipment.
